REMEMBER - Choosing a Title

This is YOUR chance to offer feedback!

It’s coming…

Welcome back to our movie newsletter, where we keep you posted on our filmmaking journey.

This project has gone through many changes as we prepare for filming, but one thing that has remained consistent over the last two years is our film’s name: REMEMBER.

However, we’re open to a title change, and that’s where YOU come in. Our team of producers have bandied around a list of options before landing on our five favorites. Everyone who votes in our poll will automatically be eligible to win a $25 gift certificate of your choosing.

But before we get to the choices, let me remind you about our project. REMEMBER (or whatever final title we land on) is a psychology horror film about lost memories. It follows a grief-stricken family as they are terrorized by an unnatural force that doesn’t just kill its victims; it erases their memories. After each murder, the survivors have no idea that they lost anyone at all, which affects their lives in terrifying ways.

That’s the premise. Now, here are the five title choices:

Go ahead! Vote on your favorite. We’ll collect the results and announce the winner of the gift certificate as soon as we get enough responses.

Summer Recommendations

We usually close out our newsletters with spotlights on our team members, but since it’s the middle of summer, we decided to share some viewing recommendations. If you want to watch something spooky or exciting to beat the heat, here’s what our team had to say:

Jeff Corpening

Director, Executive Producer and Co-Writer

Out of all the recent things I’ve seen, I’d definitely recommend Twisted Metal, the new Peacock series based on the PlayStation game. All of the descriptions of the show use phrases like “high octane,” and that’s completely accurate. The show speeds through its post-apocalyptic story, offering plenty of gore, drama, and nail-biting cliffhangers along the way. Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz are fun leads, and Will Arnett gives a genuinely great voice performance as the show’s killer clown.

Betsy Pearl Cardwell

Executive Producer

I recommend The Wrath of Becky, which falls into the horror genre just as well as the thriller, action, and comedy genres. It has a little bit of everything. A wilder sequel to the pandemic release Becky, this film is a revenge story with a young, feminine bent. It was co-directed by a man and a woman, which I feel gives it a unique perspective on its exciting, cathartic story. And you gotta love that rocket launcher!

Aaron Pelman

Producer

I’m almost done with the German horror series Dark, which lasted for three seasons on Netflix. This is a very hard series to recommend without spoiling all the twists and surprises that make it so enjoyable. As you watch it, you will have absolutely not know what happens next. Basically, this is a dark time travel story that crosses between generations. That’s all the plot you need to know. The casting of the same characters at different ages is incredible. Shows like Heroes and Lost kickstarted a trend in addictive time travel dramas, but Dark takes things to a whole new level.

Evan Purcell

Executive Producer and Co-Writer

I had an absolute blast watching the new Netflix shark movie Under Paris. It follows the cheesy shark template that Jaws and its many imitators created, but it never seems embarrassed by it. Most post-Sharknado American movies are intentionally ridiculous, but this movie (probably because it’s French) has a bunch of ridiculous moments without ever winking at you. The Meg, this is not. Plus, it peaks with the kind of third act that most movies would be too afraid to try. Just a wild, fun time.

And those are our recommendations. There’s a nice bit of variety here, so hopefully you find something of interest. And let us know any recommendations of your own. We’d love to hear!

Coming Attractions

In our next newsletter, we’ll guide you through our filming experiences back in 2022, when REMEMBER looked like a much, much different film. Prepare for some cabin-in-the-woods excitement next time!
