REMEMBER – Stinson Joins the Cast as Umma
A gentle soul with a big résumé

Ten friends in an isolated cabin are terrorized by a malevolent force that picks them off one-by-one. As each character is taken, the survivors forget that their friend ever existed, causing ripple effects that affect their personalities, relationships, and ability to survive the night.
Every ensemble has a scene-stealer. Ours just happens to have four legs.
We’re overjoyed to welcome Stinson, a golden retriever/lab mix, to the cast of REMEMBER as Umma. At just a glance, you can tell Stinson has star power—but behind his sweet face is a remarkable story of training, intelligence, and heart.

Stinson all dressed up for the Sylva Pride Festival
“He’s just the sweetest boy,” said handler and follow-up trainer Bethany Spencer, an accredited pet trainer at PetSmart in Arden, NC. “Such a gentle soul and a very laid-back, docile dog. He truly loves to learn.”
Stinson was bred through a service dog breeding cooperative on the East Coast and trained as a medical alert mobility assistance dog. He can sense Bethany’s migraines, nudging her gently to let her know it’s time to head home. He can also open and close doors and drawers, get items from the fridge, turn lights on and off, pull wheelchairs, and find exits. Truly a dog of many talents.
But Stinson is no stranger to the screen, either. He previously appeared in Gigi & Nate, filmed in Charlotte, working alongside a whole menagerie of animals: service dogs, therapeutic horses, pigs, cats, and even a capuchin monkey. “He had a lot of fun,” Bethany recalled.
Off set, Stinson has a trophy case that would make any actor jealous. He’s performed in multiple talent shows, including the North Carolina Pet Expo, where he took home second place for his Ghostbusters-themed trick routine. He’s also earned over 15 official titles through the American Kennel Club and other organizations.
“He’s working hard to prepare for his new role in REMEMBER,” Bethany said. “He spent a lot of time practicing knocking my partner over.” He’s also been learning to growl—“which is a bit of a challenge for him.”
Outside of his work and film life, Stinson’s also an adventurer. He participates in dock diving, Fast CAT, and Fetch competitions, with a personal best of 18 feet 1 inch in dock diving. He’s a proud member of the B.A.R.K. Ranger program—a National Park initiative where dogs complete special activities to earn tags from different parks. Stinson already has six tags to his name. One of his favorites was a photo scavenger hunt at Smoky Mountains National Park.

On set, Stinson brings exactly what you’d hope from a four-legged cast member: warmth, patience, and professionalism. Welcome to the REMEMBER family, Stinson! We can’t wait for audiences to meet you.
